India is a bit of a mixed bag, if you are considering it a holiday destination. As a country it has a rich cultural heritage, which you can see in its buildings, temples and monuments, and the religious aspects of their culture are as deep as anywhere else on the planet, being the birth place of multiple global religions, like Hinduism and Buddhism. You can also experience a great food culture, which differs depending upon the region you’re visiting, but all of them have their merits. A lot of people visit India with the aim of experiencing all of the food, and a lot of people visit there to experience the culture, and both of these certainly make for a great holiday experience. The only downside to visiting India is that it is a country which is still developing, and you can see signs of this everywhere, from the masses of poor communities, to the lack of cleanliness, and the generally poor quality accommodation and services that come with it. If you suspend your need for luxury, then it makes for a great holiday.
